Choose what needs protection
List the files and app data that matter to your work. A downloaded document, an app's private database and settings stored inside an account may need different export methods. Check the app's supported backup or export options. Avoid assuming that copying a visible folder includes every piece of application state. If a tool requires root access or a hardware feature, confirm availability rather than trying unsupported changes.
Keep and verify an independent copy
Use an approved transfer or storage method available in your environment. Protect the destination account with strong authentication and share access only with the people who need it. After export, check the file count, filenames and whether important documents open correctly. Where exact preservation matters, compare checksums using a suitable trusted tool. A backup that has never been checked may fail when you need it.
Prepare before expiry or reset
Review your subscription end date and complete exports in advance. Ask support about the relevant retention and restoration options; do not infer a backup service from the fact that files survived a normal restart. Before any reset or replacement, confirm what is erased and what can be restored. Store passwords and recovery codes securely outside the device so losing access to the workspace does not also lock you out of the backup destination.
Is persistent storage the same as a daily backup?
No. Persistent storage describes data remaining on a device; a backup is a separate recoverable copy. Confirm backup arrangements explicitly.
